Hi all. Today I solved a problem with my 1986 Wartburg using an unexpected spare part. The plastic nut on top of my brake fluid container was cracked and a previous owner had ”repaired” it. I removed the sending unit, Pried off the top plastic piece, removed the plastic nut, replaced it with a plastic nut from a Volvo 850. The Volvo nut fits pretty much perfectly and everything looks very original. Where I live finding an original nut is impossible. Finding a dead Volvo for spare parts should be easy worldwide.
